Opening my eyes, I blinked in the early morning light. Kicking off the covers I stretched. After a quick scan from head to toes, a smile erupted in me.

When the unexpected happens . . . what do we do?
We hear statements like these everyday:
Why did this happen?
It wasn’t supposed to be this way.
I’m a good person, I don’t deserve to this pain.
But . . . suffering is rewarded in our society. There’s a payoff that accompanies grief.
Do you see me? Do you care? Am I good enough?
Ultimately, life is about loving ourselves and following our heart.
But let’s be honest . . . sometimes it’s nice to know others approve of us too.
We’ve all heard children say: “Look at me? Did I do a good job?”
